Detailed Marrakech Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Marrakech

Then we discover the best of medina, the Historical center of the city of Marrakech, with the famous square Jamaa El Fna. Overnight in Riad.

Day 2: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Ounila Valley - Ouarzazate

Pick up at 8 am in the morning and we depart through the High Atlas mountains and Tizi Ntichka at 2.260m. After passing few Berber villages we explore the Telouat Kasbah. We´ll continue through the Ounila valley, we reach the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah which has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator , Obelix, and The Mummy. After visiting the kasbah we´ll travel to Ouarzazate also known as “The gate of the desert”. Dinner at the kasbah where we´ll spend the night.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast our 7 day Desert tour from Marrakech continues and we´ll depart towards the Draa Valley where you can see one of the longest rivers in Morocco. On the way we make some stops to take pictures and enjoy the view of the spectacular kasbahs and berber villages that dot the road as well as the beauties of the Draa valley.You´ll have some free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif, and then, after two hours driving we´ll reach the wonderful Merzouga dunes. “Desert of powdery sand dunes”.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Excursion

We will have a tour of the dunes on 4×4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of fossils, visit a nomad family living in tent, visit to khamlia village and entertainment of their spiritual music of Gnawa, and visit the lake Dayte Sarji that forms in springtime which attract pink flamingos and wildlife. Then you will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied. After lunch you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located on the foot of the dunes. After that you will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, these dunes are called also Merzouga Dunes. Arrive to the hotel and get ready for a camel trek for an hour and half to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp for an overnight in traditional nomad tent. Dinner and Spend the night in a bivouac in the middle of the dunes.

Day 5: Merzouga - Erfoud - Midelt - Azrou - Ifran - Fes

Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert then have your breakfast. After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to the hotel where you can shower. We will depart to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous and the valley of Ziz then stopping for a panoramic view of the oasis of Aoufous in the Tafilalte region. Continuation to Midelt across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt and have lunch break. After lunch you will be driven to Fes via the Cedar forest near Azrou and the mountain of the middle Atlas with the possibility to see the Barbary apes. You may have a stop in Ifran (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving to Fes. Drop off in Fes riad.

Day 6: Fes excursion

This morning after breakfast we will have a Fes sightseeing tour of the city with a local guide. We explore best sights of the medina (old city) and its historical attractions. You will visit old city while walking on foot. Overnight in riad.

Day 7: end of the tour
